Arena Hire
Our 60 x 20m undercover, floodlit sand arena is available for limited bookings to approved organisations and clinicians by prior arrangement at the following times:

QLD state school terms – Sundays only (afternoons preferable but mornings possible by arrangement) (No weekday or Saturday hire due to RDA usage and permanent bookings)

QLD state school holidays – More availability on all days.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Our RDA arena has a specialised surface to suit its primary purpose. It has a much shallower sand layer than a regular arena to enable our volunteers to walk beside and lead our horses in more safety and comfort. As a consequence, it is unsuitable for jumping, western pleasure, prolonged speed, canter and circle work, and lunging. This is to protect the base and prolong the life of this valuable asset.

Hire is on the following basis – a minimum of 3 hours per hire. We do not hire to individuals for only 1 or 2 hours, or at the last minute. Hire must be pre-arranged and paid for in advance.

All hirers must complete an Arena Hire Agreement, and produce a Certificate of Currency for Public Liability insurance ($10 million for organisations and $5 million for individuals).

Hire rate is currently $25 per hour (minimum $75) with a daily cap of $200. Lights are an extra $5 per hour.

Use of arena, mounting yard, round yard, 9 horse yards, and Showgounds toilet block is included. There is no access to sheds or kitchen. There is power available. Full details included on Arena Hire Agreement (available on request).

Arena is not available for parties, weddings or similar events – equestrian activities/events only.
